Council Proposes Restructuring the Federal Decision-making Forum for River Operations

The Council approved the release of an issue paper (80k PDF) for public comment that outlines recommended changes to the federal agencies' implementation forum for annual planning and in-season management of operations for fish and wildlife.
     The Council, along with representatives for the regional executives, tribes, and states would comprise the executive committee. The proactive executive committee would identify upcoming issues and better coordinate management of hydrosystem operations relating to fish and wildlife.
     The recommendations have been published in the Council's 2000 Fish and Wildlife Program and in its 2003 Mainstem Amendments.

Scientific Review of Subbasin Plans Now Available

The Independent Scientific Review Panel's reports on proposed subbasin plans provide important public comment on the plans.

Outlook for Future Generating Resources

Conservation, along with wind power and gas combined-cycle plants, figure prominently in the Council's analysis (80k PDF) for future resource development.

Council Approves the Amazon Basin/Eugene Wetlands Phase Two Project

Council members approved a funding increase for the Eugene, Oregon project. The additional funds will be used to acquire land to enhance the connection between the project and the West Eugene Wetlands. See memos (260k PDF) and maps (2.1m PDF)
