Northwest Power Planning Council

Dear Mr. Walker:
RE: Request for recommendations to
the Northwest Power Planning Council's Columbia River Basin Fish and Wildlife
Program
In regard to this request, we recommend
that your agency and all other agencies involved in the amendment process
follow your own existing rules and laws regarding the economic impacts
of the proposed amendments.
We also expect that you will first consider the well-being and livelihood of those people who will be affected, whether directly or indirectly. We trust that, while establishing policy to further protect and enhance fish and wildlife populations, that every effort will be made to protect the property rights, homes and jobs of those people who make your organization possible and literally put food on our tables.
We feel it is important to care for all aspects of our environment and it is crucial that our children and grandchildren be guaranteed a place in that environment now and in the future.
We request that your agency take care not to put our future generations on the Endangered Species List. We do, after all, have to share this world and no species should be placed above another, be it human, wildlife or fish.
Thank you for consideration of our comments.
Sincerely,
FERRY COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
