Congress de-funds Fish Passage Center
December 2005
In November 2005, the U.S. Congress passed the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2006. The Conference Report (House Report 109-275), which accompanies the bill, includes a provision that instructs BPA from making additional obligations in support of the Fish Passage Center. However, the work and studies previously completed by the Center have been valuable to the region's fish and wildlife managers. As specified in the Conference Report, the work will be transferred to other existing and capable entities in the region with a continuity of the activities.
