Colville tribe gets green light from Council to proceed to the final
design-and-construction phase for a $37 million hatchery immediately
downstream from Chief Joseph Dam on the Columbia River.

After more than a year of work and public involvement, the Council has
adopted a revision of its Columbia River
Basin Fish and Wildlife Program, the nation’s largest regional effort to
protect and enhance fish and wildlife.

The Council is currently developing its
Sixth Power Plan. A draft of the
plan is scheduled to be released
in July 2009.
